Seizure: the Game

Seizure

Object.

To end the game with the least points. You get points for the cards in your hand at the end of each round. You want to have as few points as possible in your hand when the round ends, that is when someone has played all playable cards out of his hand.

The game ends when the person with the most points has 25 points more than the person with the least points.

Rules

Setup

The dealer deals 9 cards to each player, puts the deck in the center of the table and flips one card face up, this is the beginning of the play pile. The player to the left of him then begins the round and play continues clockwise.

Play

On your turn you must play a card on top of the play pile, the card must match at least one color with the card beneath it and be of an equal or higher number to the card played before it. If you cannot play a number card then, and only then, can you play a Seizure card. (Explained below.) If you do not have any playable cards, you must draw a card and immediately pass your turn to the next player (without playing it).

If every player had to draw a card with no cards played in between then the played card's number is treated as zero and any card that matches a color can be played on top of it.

(Example card, this card is a red and blue .,)

When you play a number card that matches both colors and is a higher number you take any card from your hand and give it to any other player of your choice. When you play an identical number card that matches both colors give away an additional card, to any player (you can give both cards to the same player.)

End of Round

As soon as a player is left without Number and Seizure cards in their hand the round immediately ends. Since the round is over, if the last card played is a Seizure card, it has no effect.

Scoring

When a round ends, the players reveal the cards in their hands. They gain one point for each number card, including tens, two points for each Seizure card, three points for each plus three, and lose three points for each minus three. Scores are written down for each player and the next round is dealt.

Game End

The game is played over multiple rounds

From the second round onwards the player with the worst score (most points) deals and chooses how many cards to deal out. (7 to 15 with the same number of cards for each player.) If two people tie for the most points, the one who has dealt the fewest times deals the next round. If that is also a tie, the one with better hair deals.

Nominally the game is played for five rounds and the player with the lowest score after the fifth round wins the game. If you are feeling a little more open the game continues until there is a gap of 25 points between any two players and only then does the game end. When playing to a gap the lowest score player wins and everyone else loses. You may not invent an imaginary second place here. Only one person gets out.

Our cards are thoughtfully chosen

A Special Card

the 10 card

The "10"

(Here is the ten, they come in all color pairs)

Since we only have room for one digit Ten is both the highest and lowest number in the game. In the hand it can be played as any card since it is the highest number but since it is also the lowest number, once on the table, any number can be played over it. (As long as the colors match of course) For all other intents and purposes, it is still treated as a number card.

The Seizure Cards

to the left card

To the Left"

to the right card

To the Right

switch with your choice card

Direct Trade

When the Left or Right Seizure cards are played each and every player must pass their hand, that being all their cards to the Left, or to the Right respectively.

When the Direct Trade is played the player who played it must exchange their hand with another player of their choice. (Nothing is optional hahahahahaha)

Score Cards

the plus three card

Plus Three

the minus three card

Minus Three

Score cards cannot be played, and do not count as cards in the hand for the sake of ending a round. Instead, they affect the score of the player who holds them at the end of the round. (+3 add points -3 subtracts.)
